Savor Gourmet and Catering as part of their Savor Experiences held a Ramen Shop takeover at Soho House which was intended to take you on a journey to a back alley in Tokyo with vegetarian and non-vegetarian Ramen along with Japanese cocktails and some Asahi Beer as per their website. So first for the departures from the promise land. There was a stout or apple cider from Thirsty Microbrewery and a G&T on tap. And ambience was 6 Japanese Lanterns.
But the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The appetiser was an asparagus and cream cheese sushi which was very nice. I opted for the spicy Ramen with Chicken and my guest opted for the medium spicy with pork. The Ramen was delicious, albeit served Luke warm. I don’t have a copy of the menu so that’s all we can share. I would have preferred my Ramen to be piping hot which would have aided the heat coming from the chilly oil as well. But can’t fault them on the taste or on the cooking of the noodles itself. Dessert was an absolutely lovely peach and sushi ginger sorbet which was sweet, tangy and had a lovely umami flavour as well.
Priced at Rs 1000/- per head it was well priced
Rating: the ramen itself may have inched up to a 3.5 but given the temperature, the delay and the accompanying beverages, We can only give it a solid 3*/5
